Default Me/E builds? Want to try something new, need advice

I currently have a lv20 E/Me with 73 energy. I want to try a primary Me with fire Ele skills secondary. But I need all the energy I have. How much does a Mesmer have for energy? I want to have more Me skills as I tent do use Rodgart's Invocation and Meteor (not meteor shower) and I double cast them. Kills lv12 creatures in 2 hits. Its awsome. But I have been staring at my ele since last May... I want to try something different. Any suggestions or tips? I think being a great interupt with some powerful none AoE fire skills would be a cool build.

Well i run Fast Cast Echo nuker

Echo
Flare
Fire Storm
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Meteor Shower
Res Sig

are the primary skills i always carry, rest 2 are depends on your choice

attributes
Fast Casting: 8+1 [min]
Fire: 12
Rest is your choice

i would prefer to have power drain for 1 of the skill and putting up some points in Inspiration..

My best advice is to play a mesmer, not an elementalist in disguise.

I'm sure that you'd find a Me/N(or W/R/Mo) to be something new ^_^

Well I created a Me/E last night. Already lv7 but still in pre. Lots of fun so far. Once I get more skills I'll try some builds.

i play Mesmer/Ele and have had alot of fun right up to the thunderhead mission(where my character is currently at) i can usually keep up with an Ele in casting. i tried playing an Ele primary but i was spoiled by the Mesmer fastcasting and deleted my Ele. i usually lean towards an intrupter build with some high damage ele skills. ive recently switched to Mesmer/Monk playing around with the solo monk build posted here and have been having alot of fun with that.

I got just the thing for you to try!

One of the thigs I love about Me/E is that you can cast those high dmg spells faster than the ele's can (of course you run out of energy faster).

here is a skill set that I often use

I have a Me/E
Fast Casting 9 (5 + 3 +1) I like having a superior rune here so that I always have at least 4 in this attribute (rune plus hat)
Illusion 12 (11 + 1)
Inspiration 5 (4 +1)
Fire Magic 12

Skills
1 Fireball
2 Immolate
3 Meteor
4 Conjure Phantasm
5 Migrane (elite)
6 Leech Signet
7 Power Drain
8 Free (can be rez sig, hex breaker, inspired hex, glyph of lesser energy...whatever you feel you need)

depending on what weapon you use you will have anywhere from 40-50 energy (probably), so you need to find ways to get that energy back Leech and Power drain help, especially if you have more points in Insp. Magic. If you find you are having energy problems chage it up and add channeling into the mix. Maybe get rid of Conjure and migrane and add Ether Lord and Enregy Drain (elite) or something...

anyway, Me/E is a great combo, I think. Hope you find something you like!

Well I gotta get those skills first but I certainly want to try that. I just my mesmer out of Pre Searing. Kicked some good butt in Pre and in the PvP thing coming over to Post. 4-15 kills. I was using glyph of lesser energy which makes my next skill cost nothing haha. Had some good combos going. I'm excited to try out this new build but I need to progress and get better skills. Not that this has anything to do with being a mesmer but I got two black dyes drop in two days in Pre Searing as well as many orange, yellow, red and green. Made it even more fun playing mesmer.

You know I've been playing on and off since before the game was ever released, and never once have I found a black dye. Good thing I've never had much of a use for it in my color designs... although I did see a mesmer setup that looked awesome and used a mix of black and something else. But creating a character simply because the most expensive dye on 15k armor looks nice is a bit extreme

here is another cool trick to try out (once you get the skills)

Elemental Attunement + (insert element here) attunement
and a bunch of skills from your element of choice. Max out Fastcasting and your element of choice and start spamming like crazy...you will never run out of energy. You may want some kind of cover enchant, preferably something cheap and spammable.

I got this idea from the thread on infinenergy ele. I know that the ele would have higher numbers damage but with fast casting at 16 you can cast all the skills in half the time...it was lots of fun
